The Healthy Opportunities Pilot is a catalyst for North Carolina and is completely unique to our state! Not only are health care costs lower, but people are healthier, and local infrastructure and economies are stronger due to job creation and local businesses and farmers participating.
As network lead for the Cape Fear Healthy Opportunities Pilot, we have seen firsthand the impact this amazing program has had on our community. In just two years, this program has resulted in over $12 MILLION in savings in our region – and that number continues to grow.
However, Healthy Opportunities is currently not in the House or Senate FY 2025-2027 budget. Without this program, health care costs will rise even more, and millions will be pulled from rural districts.
